Breakfast is my favorite time of the day.

I wake up absolutely starving every morning, and I am always thinking of new and fresh ideas to have a healthy breakfast. It sets the tone for the rest of the day, it can so easily be shared over a conversation, it can be done on the cheap, and having the same breakfast every day has actually been proven to lower your metabolism. With that in mind, here are some of my go-to breakfast combinations:

The Breakfast Smoothie: Ideal for those who struggle with eating solid foods in the morning. You could have a meal-replacement protein shake, but I love Dr Oz’s ideas for healthy, low GI (and often detox-friendly) smoothies, e.g.  Dr Oz’s Anti-Bloat Chocolate Berry Smoothie:
